Marvelous Advice: A Course in Wonders Journey


The sources of A Program in Wonders could be followed back once again to the relationship between two persons, Helen Schucman and William Thetford, both of whom were prominent psychologists and researchers. The course's inception happened in early 1960s when Schucman, who was simply a clinical and research psychologist at Columbia University's University of Physicians and Surgeons, started to see a series of internal dictations. She explained these dictations as coming from an interior style that identified it self as Jesus Christ. Schucman originally resisted these experiences, but with Thetford's encouragement, she started transcribing the communications she received.

Around an amount of seven years, Schucman transcribed what can become A Class in Wonders, amounting to three amounts: the Text, the Book for Pupils, and the Information for Teachers. The Text lays out the theoretical base of the class, elaborating on the core concepts and principles. The Workbook for Pupils contains 365 instructions, one for each time of the entire year, designed to steer the audience by way of a day-to-day training of applying the course's teachings. The Manual for Educators provides further advice on how to realize and show the concepts of A Course in Miracles to others.

One of the main subjects of A Course in Miracles is the thought of forgiveness. The course teaches that true forgiveness is the key to inner peace and awareness to one's heavenly nature. Based on their teachings, forgiveness is not simply a moral or moral practice but a simple shift in perception.
